How to Calculate Biweekly Time Card Hours

A biweekly time card sums net hours across 14 days, usually split into Week 1 and Week 2. Each day follows the same clock-in, clock-out, and break formula as a daily timesheet.

Formula

Daily net = (Clock out − Clock in) − Break minutes

Week total = Sum of 7 daily net values

Biweekly total = Week 1 + Week 2

  1. Calculate net hours for each enabled day in the 14-day period.
  2. Sum days 1–7 for Week 1 and days 8–14 for Week 2.
  3. Add both week totals for the biweekly hours sum.

Example Calculation

Week 1 totals 42.00 hours and Week 2 totals 38.00 hours across a 14-day pay period.

Worked example

Week 1 total = 42.00 h

Week 2 total = 38.00 h

Biweekly total = 42.00 + 38.00 = 80.00 hours

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

A biweekly time card records hours for a two-week pay period — typically 14 consecutive days. Employers use it to run payroll every two weeks.
Overtime is often calculated per 7-day workweek, not on the full 14-day total. When you enter an hourly rate, this calculator estimates OT separately for Week 1 and Week 2.
