How to Calculate Weekly Hours

When you already know daily totals, weekly hours are the sum of each day's hours. Enter decimal hours (8.5) or h:mm (8:30) per day and add them together.

Formula

Daily hours = Decimal or h:mm entry per day

Weekly total = Mon + Tue + Wed + Thu + Fri + Sat + Sun

  1. Enter hours worked for each day you worked.
  2. Leave days off blank or at zero.
  3. Sum all daily values for the weekly total.

Example Calculation

Eight hours per weekday (Monday–Friday), weekends off.

Worked example

Mon–Fri = 8.00 h each

Sat + Sun = 0 h

Weekly total = 8.00 × 5 = 40.00 hours
